My leadership and management experience includes 14 years as Director of Norfolk Museums & Archaeology Service, and three years as President of the Museums Association.

I have a particular interest in museum ethics. I was for many years Convenor of the Museums Association’s Ethics Committee and was instrumental in developing new guidelines on the ethical disposal of collections.

I am President of the Norfolk Costume & Textiles Association, a trustee of the Museum of East Anglian Life, a member of the National Trust East of England Regional Advisory Board, and Chair of the Norwich Society. I am a founder member of the Women Leaders in Museums Network and its sister body, the recently formed SHIFT Group for senior women facing career changes.

I have an interest in the natural environment and helped establish the Friends of Kett's Heights to bring an historic open space back to life through conservation, events programming and educational activities.
